Lesson Plan |
10:30pm |
In 1967, 10th grade teacher Ron Jones told his students he could give them power & success using 'Strength Through Discipline' and famous "Third Wave Experiment" was born. Within just one week, 200 students joined this exercise in fascism that took on a life of its own; the students unwittingly replicated the root behaviors of the Third Reich. The Third Wave story is required reading in much of Europe, and last year a narrative film was produced in Germany (Die Welle) and premiered at Sundance. One of the directors is an original member of that Third Wave class. |

James and Rachel are best friends in high school, set to have a party, and a sure thing gets invited to the party, so James has only one thing on his mind, not knowing that Rachel's feelings for him are more than a friends. Themes that could easily fall into cliché are done with intellect and fresh sensitivity. We wish Hollywood still made films this honest and funny. |
