Director: Alexander Tuschinski
PG-13 GERMANY
This film is a poetic, crazy and inspiring ode to independent filmmaking, and to living a free and artistic lifestyle.
While shooting a feature film in Paris amidst turbulences in his personal life, German filmmaker Alexander Tuschinski decided to "toss the script" and instead improvise his biggest film project so far. What was once to be a documentary about the making of that last film project, instead evolved into an autobiographical collage, and surrealist exploration into his life, history, and his relationship to the recorded celluloid memories of it all.
As Alexander retraced the frequent international journeys taken throughout his life, as well as the encounters with his many artistic friends, places, and memories. This unique film features many celebrity cameos and encounters, as well as presenting film fans with Helmut Berger's final appearance in front of a film camera.

Jacob, a novelist residing in Los Angeles, frequents the park daily in search of intriguing characters to inspire his writing. One day, while exploring the park, he stumbles upon the lifeless body of a young woman concealed amidst the undergrowth of bushes.
Struck by the resemblance between the deceased woman and a distraught husband featured on a local news broadcast discussing his missing wife, Jacob is compelled to notify the authorities. However, upon returning to the park with the police, the body mysteriously disappears.
This incident forms the basis of Jacob's short story titled "The Found Woman," which he later publishes in the New Yorker magazine. Though writing is his passion, Jacob grapples with the unintended consequences of his storytelling, particularly when it impacts real-life relationships and emotions.
"Lives in Transit" unfolds as Jacob delves into the mystery surrounding the woman's death, navigating the blurred lines between fiction and reality while grappling with the ethical implications of his creative pursuits.

Narrated by actor Beau Bridges, "Wildlife on the Edge" invites viewers to watch Mountain Lions, Bears and Bobcats and other wildlife living in the mountains surrounding Los Angeles.
Deep in the forests that surround Los Angeles, amateur wildlife photographer Robert Martinez documents the natural behavior of wild animals using his strategically placed trail-cams.
Using that and other footage, this film examines the many deadly hazards wildlife must face while living close to one of the worlds major cities. We learn that one cougar, P-22, featured in a celebrated National Geographic photograph near the Hollywood sign, helped spur the creation of the city’s first highway animal crossing.
Governor Gavin Newsom and Beth Pratt of the National Wildlife Federation share their support of the new Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing as a solution to prevent animal highway deaths and keep our eco-system strong.

This film is based on a real car ride at night from downtown Los Angeles to the desert near Palm Springs.
The footage was taken from the car by continually shooting single long exposure photos to document the ride of about two hours without any break. This technique condensed the whole trip to a flickering twirl of time-stretched movements and night light graffiti causing a kind of psychedelic trance.
A love letter to the energy and vibe of the Californian way of life.

The project is a synthesis of pictures and poems, set in motion by the film. Referencing back to the work of Brother Quay and Jan Svankmajer in terms of stop-motion animation compositing techniques, this project also combines the live-action and the digital-made to form a hybrid image that emphasizes the tactile experience of a Mimicry and legendary psychasthenia dream.
An emphasis on the image, the rejection of classical convention, and close interaction with literature, theatre, and the visual arts. The space itself becomes objective humor, humor that is neither abstract nor cynical since it springs from the depths of a reality that has turned sour.
