A young artist, commissioned to paint a double portrait of a couple who can advance his career, travels to their home on San Juan Island for three days to start the painting and finds himself in over his head-- drawn into a web of seduction, deceit and death. Attempting to learn about his patrons, the artist must face an ugly truth about them that goes back to Brazil in the 1940’s as well as face some ugly truths about himself. This animated silent film of drawings, paintings and subtitles takes the form of a first person visual diary of the artist’s experience, with each frame drawn by the narrator.
